And as they spake unto the people, the priests, and the captain of the temple, and the Sadducees, came upon them, 2
Being grieved that they taught the people, and preached through Jesus the resurrection from the dead. 3
And they laid hands on them, and put them
in hold unto the next day: for it was now eventide. 4
Howbeit many of them which heard the word believed; and the number of the men was about five thousand.
5And it came to pass on the morrow, that their rulers, and elders, and scribes, 6And Annas the high priest, and Caiaphas, and John, and Alexander, and as many as were of the kindred of the high priest, were gathered together at Jerusalem. 7And when they had set them in the midst, they asked, By what power, or by what name, have ye done this? 8Then Peter, filled with the Holy Ghost, said unto them, Ye rulers of the people, and elders of Israel, 9If we this day be examined of the good deed done to the impotent man, by what means he is made whole; 10Be it known unto you all, and to all the people of Israel, that by the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, whom ye crucified, whom God raised from the dead, even by him doth this man stand here before you whole. 11This is the stone which was set at nought of you builders, which is become the head of the corner. 12Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.
And the Father himself, which hath sent me, hath borne witness of me. Ye have neither heard his voice at any time, nor seen his shape. 38
And ye have not his word abiding in you: for whom he hath sent, him ye believe not.
39Search the scriptures; for in them ye think ye have eternal life: and they are they which testify of me. 40
And ye will not come to me, that ye might have life. 41
I receive not honour from men. 42
But I know you, that ye have not the love of God in you. 43I am come in my Father’s name, and ye receive me not: if another shall come in his own name, him ye will receive. 44
How can ye believe, which receive honour one of another, and seek not the honour that cometh
from God only? 45
Do not think that I will accuse you to the Father: there is one
that accuseth you, even
Moses, in whom ye trust. 46
For had ye believed Moses, ye would have believed me: for he wrote of me. 47
But if ye believe not his writings, how shall ye believe my words?
And it shall come to pass in that day, saith the LORD of hosts, that I will cut off the names of the idols out of the land, and they shall no more be remembered: and also I will cause the prophets and the unclean spirit to pass out of the land.
1 John 2:22Who is a liar but he that denieth that Jesus is the Christ? He is antichrist
, that denieth the Father and the Son. 23Whosoever denieth the Son, the same hath not the Father: (but) he that acknowledgeth the Son hath the Father also
Let that therefore abide in you, which ye have heard from the beginning. If that which ye have heard from the beginning shall remain in you, ye also shall continue in the Son, and in the Father.
And this is the promise that he hath promised us, even
have I written unto you concerning them that seduce you. 27
But the anointing which ye have received of him abideth in you, and ye need not that any man teach you: but as the same anointing teacheth you of all things, and is truth, and is no lie, and even as it hath taught you, ye shall abide in him.
2 John 1:7For many deceivers are entered into the world, who confess not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh. This is a deceiver and an antichrist. 8
Look to yourselves, that we lose not those things which we have wrought, but that we receive a full reward. 9
Whosoever transgresseth, and abideth not in the doctrine of Christ, hath not God. He that abideth in the doctrine of Christ, he hath both the Father and the Son. 10If there come any unto you, and bring not this doctrine, receive him not into your house, neither bid him God speed: 11For he that biddeth him God speed is partaker of his evil deeds.
1 John 5:5Who is he that overcometh the world, but he that believeth that Jesus is the Son of God? 6
This is he that came by water and blood, even
Jesus Christ; not by water only, but by water and blood. And it is the Spirit that beareth witness, because the Spirit is truth. 7
For there are three that bear record in heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost: and these three are one. 8
And there are three that bear witness in earth, the spirit, and the water, and the blood: and these three agree in one. 9
If we receive the witness of men, the witness of God is greater: for this is the witness of God which he hath testified of his Son. 10He that believeth on the Son of God hath the witness in himself: he that believeth not God hath made him a liar; because he believeth not the record that God gave of his Son. 11
And this is the record, that God hath given to us eternal life, and this life is in his Son. 12He that hath the Son hath life
; and he that hath not the Son of God hath not life.
John 14:7If ye had known me, ye should have known my Father also: and from henceforth ye know him, and have seen him.
8Philip saith unto him, Lord, shew us the Father, and it sufficeth us. 9Jesus saith unto him, Have I been so long time with you, and yet hast thou not known me, Philip? he that hath seen me hath seen the Father; and how sayest thou then, Shew us the Father?
Believest thou not that I am in the Father, and the Father in me? the words that I speak unto you I speak not of myself: but the Father that dwelleth in me, he doeth the works. 11Believe me that I am in the Father, and the Father in me: or else believe me for the very works’ sake. 12
Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works
than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father. 13
And whatsoever ye shall ask in my name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. 14
If ye shall ask any thing in my name, I will do it
If ye love me, keep my commandments.
And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you for ever; 17Even
the Spirit of truth; whom the world cannot receive, because it seeth him not, neither knoweth him: but ye know him; for he dwelleth with you, and shall be in you.
I will not leave you comfortless: I will come to you. 19
Yet a little while, and the world seeth me no more; but ye see me: because I live, ye shall live also. 20
At that day ye shall know that I am
in my Father, and ye in me, and I in you. 21He that hath my commandments, and keepeth them, he it is that loveth me
: and he that loveth me shall be loved of my Father, and I will love him, and will manifest myself to him. 22
Judas saith unto him, not Iscariot, Lord, how is it that thou wilt manifest thyself unto us, and not unto the world? 23
Jesus answered and said unto him, If a man love me, he will keep my words
: and my Father will love him, and we will come unto him, and make our abode with him. 24He that loveth me not keepeth not my sayings
: and the word which ye hear is not mine, but the Father’s which sent me.
Rev 12:17And the dragon was wroth with the woman, and went to make war with the remnant of her seed, which keep the commandments of God, and have the testimony of Jesus Christ.
John 10:24Then came the Jews round about him, and said unto him, How long dost thou make us to doubt? If thou be the Christ, tell us plainly. 25
Jesus answered them, I told you, and ye believed not
: the works that I do in my Father’s name, they bear witness of me. 26But ye believe not, because ye are not of my sheep,
as I said unto you. 27
My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me: 28And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man
pluck them out of my hand. 29
My Father, which gave them
me, is greater than all; and no man
is able to pluck them
out of my Father’s hand. 30I and my Father are one.
1 Cor 8:5For though there be that are called gods, whether in heaven or in earth, (as there be gods many, and lords many,) 6But to us there is but one God, the Father, of whom are all things, and we in him; and one Lord Jesus Christ, by whom are all things, and we by him.
2 Thes 2:1Now we beseech you, brethren, by the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, and by our gathering together unto him, 2That ye be not soon shaken in mind, or be troubled, neither by spirit, nor by word, nor by letter as from us, as that the day of Christ is at hand. 3Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition; 4Who opposeth and exalteth himself above all that is called God, or that is worshipped; so that he as God sitteth in the temple of God, shewing himself that he is God.
Zech 13:8And it shall come to pass, that in all the land, saith the LORD, two parts therein shall be cut off and die; but the third shall be left therein.
9And I will bring the third part through the fire, and will refine them as silver is refined, and will try them as gold is tried: they shall call on my name, and I will hear them: I will say, It is my people: and they shall say, The LORD is my God.
